How to handle Sunday night anxiety without pretending everything is fine

Sunday night anxiety is often treated like a mindset problem. Sometimes it is. But very often it is a boundary, planning or recovery problem.

1. Name the actual worry

Write down the specific worry in one sentence. Not “work is awful.” Something sharper: “I have three unfinished tasks and I do not know which one matters most.”

2. Separate control from noise

Make two short columns: what you can influence on Monday, and what you cannot solve tonight.

3. Create a Monday landing strip

Choose the first tiny action for Monday morning. The goal is not to solve the week. It is to reduce the emotional friction of starting.

4. Close the loop

Write: “I have captured this. I do not need to keep rehearsing it tonight.” Then do something boring and low-stimulation.
